Executive Bios

Stan G. Andre, CEO

Stan G. Andre is Chief Executive Officer of the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), responsible for overseeing the operations and programs of one of the country's largest commodity marketing organizations.

Andre's background in the food industry spans more than 30 years, with extensive experience in managing and developing strategic marketing campaigns and market development, sales, advertising and public relations programs.

Andre joined the CMAB as CEO in January 2001.  He worked previously for the CMAB from 1986 to 1992 as director of manufactured products. His responsibilities included program development, consumer and trade research, promotional programs and development of several award-winning advertising campaigns. Andre also served as Chairman of the CMAB's New Products Advisory Committee and on the National Dairy Board's Butter Task Force.

Before joining the CMAB, Andre was senior vice president of marketing and sales for Nulaid Foods, Inc. Prior to that he served as Director of Corporate Sales for Avoset Food Corporation. He began his career as a sales representative for Carnation Company (Fresh Milk and Ice Cream Division) in Los Angeles.

Andre holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from California State University at Fullerton.

Michael Freeman, VP Advertising

Michael Freeman is Vice President, Advertising, of the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB). Freeman has over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing, most of that in food product marketing.

He joined the CMAB in 1992 as chair of the Senior Marketing Committee and architect of the California dairy industry's first five-year marketing plan. Since then, his role has expanded with the growth of California's cheese industry nationally and internationally. He has accepted, on behalf of the Board, numerous creative and achievement awards for the advertising and promotional programs that have helped fuel that growth. He is now helping to shape the Board's forward expansion plans with the Real California Milk seal.

Previously, Freeman held various account management positions at advertising agencies in Boston, Houston and San Francisco. In these roles, he was responsible for developing consumer research, product development and marketplace launch programs for a diverse range of consumer goods, from women's hosiery and computers to food. His clients included Foster Farms, Del Monte Foods and Texas Instruments.

Freeman earned a B.S. degree in Advertising from Syracuse University.

James J. Dimataris, Director Processor Relations

Jim Dimataris manages processor relations for the CMAB. This includes working with dairy processors to help refine CMAB marketing, education and communication programs. His focus is on selling Real California Milk and Real California Cheese seal programs to dairy product processors in California and nationally and internationally.

Dimataris brings to this position more than 20 years of business experience in the grocery industry. He has worked for United Grocers, Fleming Companies and BelAir Markets. Most recently, he was director of business development for Super Store Industries.

He has developed over 1,400 private brand products, including dairy products, for two major grocery chains and has been highly involved in package design, marketing, product branding and distribution.

Dimataris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Communications from California State University, Sacramento.
