California Milk Advisory Board Announces 2016-2017 Dairy Princess Representatives

Tracy, Calif., August 5, 2016 – The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) recently welcomed the 2016-2017 class of Dairy Princess representatives for a five-day session to launch their year of service as California dairy industry advocates. Seventeen Dairy Princesses and Alternates from Districts 1 to 9 attended the Dairy Princess Training Week in June where they learned presentation and public speaking skills, etiquette and social media tips and an overview of industry programs and issues.

(July 14, 2016) ­­– La Quinta Middle School scored a touchdown when two students were selected to represent the state of California at the 7th annual Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60) Student Summit in West Lafayette, Indiana. Kymani Nix and Karissa Gonzales were chosen to serve as ambassadors for healthy eating and physical activity for the 2016-2017 school year. TRACY, Calif. – June 30, 2016 – California cow’s milk processors that carry the Real California Cheese or Milk seals brought home 89 awards including Best of Show during the 2016 annual cheese competition held by the California State Fair in Sacramento. Pt. Reyes Farmstead Cheese was nominated as Best of Show Cow’s Milk Cheese and Best of California Cow’s Milk Cheese during the annual event and four processors, California Dairies, Inc., Fiscalini Cheese Co., Sierra Nevada Cheese Co. and Valley Ford Cheese Co., were nominated as Best of California Cow’s Milk Cheese.
