California Cheddar cheese

Healthy and Delish Grilled Cheese

Makes 1 serving

Ingredients

1 tbsp. Real California butter

2 slices wheat bread

2 slices Real California Cheddar cheese

1/2 tomato, sliced

1/2 avocado, sliced

Directions

Spread the butter onto one side of each slice of bread. Top an unbuttered side of one slice with a slice of cheese, the tomato, the avocado, a slice of cheese, and the remaining bread, buttered side up.

12 asparagus spears, cut in thirds

6 yellow squash, sliced

5 large shallots, diced

2 large garlic cloves, minced

Pinch ground cayenne, or more to taste

2 tbsp. dried thyme leaves, divided

1 cup shredded Real California sharp Cheddar cheese, or more to taste

Manly Cheeseburger Quiche

1 9-in. deep dish pastry shell

1 lb. ground beef

1 onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp. red pepper flakes

1 large portobello mushroom (6 ounces)

2 flour tortillas, about 8-inches in diameter

1/4 cup plain nonfat Real California yogurt, lightly beaten

8 (1/2-inch thick) slices rustic grainy bread, cut on the diagonal to make slightly larger

2 tablespoons California butter, softened

1 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted and coarsely mashed

1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt

1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper

1/4 cup diced tomato

2 teaspoons minced roasted garlic

4 to 6 oz. farmstead or sharp California Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip

3 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded (about 3 breasts)

2 (8-oz) packages California cream cheese, softened

1 ½ cups shredded California Cheddar cheese

¾ cup Buffalo wing sauce

½ cup green onion, finely chopped

¼ cup California Blue cheese, crumbled (optional)

Makes 8 servings.

Mix all ingredients together and spoon into a (8x8) square baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve with corn chips, crackers and/or celery stalks.

* 1 package Frozen Hash Brown Potatoes Diced and Unseasoned

 

Directions:

California Cheddar Cheese Sliders with Tomato Jam

Real California Sliders

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 5minutes

6 (2-ounce) slices California Cheddar cheese

6 (3-inch) round rolls, split and toasted

6 tablespoons tomato jam (recipe below)

Place 1 slice cheese on bottom of each roll. Place under broiler briefly to melt cheese. Top with 1 tablespoon tomato jam; close roll.
