Survey Reveals #TeamSweet and #TeamSalty Evenly Paced in the Battle of the Snacks

TRACY, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2018) – Californian’s status as Team Sweet or Team Salty when it comes to snacking may be determined by geography, according to a new survey by Real California Milk. The survey, which examines statewide snacking preferences, reveals geographic and gender differences on taste, but an overall agreement on the importance of making healthy snacking choices.

2 sticks (16 tablespoons) unsalted California butter

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 cup packed dark brown sugar

1 large egg plus 1 large egg yolk

1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract

2 ½ cups sifted pastry flour, or 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

½ cup sifted cake flour (sift before measuring)

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon salt

2/3 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup California butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
