Madera Unified School District Receives $44,000 Grant in Support of Healthy Eating and Physical Activity

Tracy, Calif. – April 3, 2017 – Today, Madera Unified School District received a $44,000 grant from GENYOUth through Fuel Up to Play 60 en español, an evolution of its national flagship program that encourages communities nationwide to live healthier lifestyles through good nutrition and physical activity. The funding will support the implementation of Fuel Up to Play 60 healthy eating and physical activity initiatives at 11 district schools.

LOS ANGELES (November 22, 2016) –LA’s BEST After School Enrichment Program, a partnership of the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Beyond the Bell Branch and the private sector is expanding student health and wellness with $20,000 in financial and in-kind resources from California dairy families, the Los Angeles Rams and the National Foundation on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (NFFSN) through a special award celebrated November 17th at Limerick Elementary School in Canoga Park.

Hayward Unified School District Scores a Touchdown with $20,000 to Encourage Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Amongst Students

OAKLAND (September 29, 2016) – Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) was presented with a $10,000 ‘Hometown Grant’ from Real California Milk, representing the state’s dairy families, and the Oakland Raiders, to expand nutrition and physical activity programs in schools throughout the district. The donation was made in a celebration on September 26 at Southgate Elementary School, which had the highest increase and overall highest elementary test scores in the district.

Denise Moreno and James Neuburger of La Quinta Selected to Represent California at National Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Summit in Chicago

SAN FRANCISCO (May 26, 2015) ­­– Denise Moreno and James Neuburger, junior high students from La Quinta, Calif., were selected as two of three student representatives to serve as a State Ambassador for Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60), the nation’s largest health and wellness program.

Brielle Prock of Denair Selected as State Ambassador Representing California at National Fuel Up to Play 60 Summit in Chicago

SAN FRANCISCO (May 26, 2015) ­­– The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) has selected Denair student Brielle Prock, daughter of dairy producers, Ray and Erica Prock, as one of three students to serve as a State Ambassador for Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60), the nation’s largest health and wellness program created in partnership with the National Dairy Council and the NFL, in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
